Who this covers
This policy explains how Platypus (“we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, including the book a demo, talk to the team and waitlist forms.
If your organisation uses Platypus under a separate written agreement, that agreement and any data terms in it govern information processed through the product. This policy covers the website only.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
You can browse this website without telling us who you are. We collect personal information only when you give it to us or when it is recorded automatically, as follows:
- Forms: your name, email, industry, company and note (if given) and which form you used.
- Server logs: our hosting provider may record standard technical details for each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. Neither uses cookies or tracks you across other websites. This website does not use advertising cookies, and we do not ask for payment details or create accounts on this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a demo.
- To understand who is interested in Platypus, so we can decide what to build and who to invite first.
- To manage the waitlist and contact you about early access.
- To send occasional updates about Platypus related to your request. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the website secure and working.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the website and respond to you (for example hosting, email, form handling and scheduling), with professional advisers where needed, or where the law requires it. Service providers may use it only to provide their services to us.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in a way that is consistent with this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Waitlist details are kept until you ask to be removed or the waitlist closes. Information we no longer need is deleted or de-identified.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please do not send confidential business information through the website forms.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also leave the waitlist or unsubscribe from updates at any time. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Links to other sites
This website links to other sites, including LinkedIn, Instagram and the Australian Museum. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle information.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
